ToolBar :
To find out what a particular toolbar item does, rest your mouse over the button, and read the text tip.
You will notice in the Main Window that the text labels and the boxes are color coordinated.  In order to run calculations all red and blue colored items must be filled in. All items in black are optional and are used only for the text files that you save and will not effect your calculations.
If you would like to use the Bullet Coefficient Table to automatically input the values for Bullet wt., Bullet Brand and Configuration and Bullet Coefficient from any of the built in bullet manufacturers that is included with  Ballistic Basics or one of your table's record s that you created with, just click on the BC Tables Button
You can also use the Bullet Grabber at the bottom of the Main Window to select your load from your database.  Once you have selected the record you want, you will be returned to the Main Form and your values will have been added. You may also import to the main form a factory load from the Manufacturers Load Data, access through the Logs Menu or by pressing your  Ctrl+F7 Keys Simultaneously.  You can then fill in the remaining boxes. Once you have entered the required information, click on the Run Calcs button or hit F2 to get the results. The results will be displayed on the Main Window where the picture of the rifle is.
You may add notes regarding your load by typing in the area marked Notes: .  It is important to keep in mind that your lines should not be longer than you can visibly see in this window.  Use your Enter key to start a new line.  Lines that are longer than this will not be printed on your printer properly.  Notes are limited in space so try to keep them as short as possible.  Notes can also be added or edited using the File Viewer when you choose to open a saved file.  You can save your calculations to a file by entering a file name in the file name box and clicking  the Save File button.  If you want to add this saved filed to your reloaders log select YES when asked or NO if not.  You can automatically save all your saved files to your reloaders log by selecting Always Save to Log in the Options Menu.

There are hotspots on the Main Window that when you run your mouse cursor over them certain functions can be carried out. If you place your mouse cursor over the red or blue text beside any of corresponding input boxes, an icon will appear with a mouse .  You can adjust the values in increments by clicking the left mouse button to advance the value up or the right mouse key to bring the value down.  If you want the values to jump or lower in larger increments, press the Shift key along with the mouse button.
To select the log to use for the component lists click on the label next to the input box (your mouse will turn to a rt bent arrow) and select the log to use. The logs choosen will be saved when you exit the program, removing the log after setting it will make the components unavailable, and you will need to reset the log.
The second hotspot on the Main Window would be when you place your mouse cursor over the picture of the rifle that appears when you first start up the program or when there are no calculations in the calculations window.  Some pop-up text will appear that will show the program name and version number. If you double click on the rifle, using either the left or right mouse button a box will appear that will ask you if you would like to go online to check for upgrades.  By selecting yes, the program will automatically open your Internet Browser and bring you to the BazoeSoft Software Website where you can then check if there are any upgrades available for the Ballistic Basics program.
The third hotspot on the Main Window would be when you start up Ballistic Basics you will see the current time displayed in the upper right hand corner of the Main Form.  If you would like to disable this feature, just place your mouse pointer over the clock until you see a red X over a clock icon.  Click once to hide the clock.  To enable it again place your mouse pointer in the same spot until your mouse pointer turns into an icon of a clock and click your mouse button.  The time will reappear again.

If you would like to calculate a Maximum Point Blank Range, ensure that you have all the calculation data in place in the appropriate boxes, then click on Calculate Mpbr. The values from the main window will be exported to the Mpbr window. Once this window appears select Calculate.

* Note the Kill Zone is the diameter in inches that you want calculated. The Mpbr will will calculate the values based on the radius of this value. In other words if you input a Kill Zone of 16 inches, the program will Calculate all sightin possibilities until it finds the Sight-in range where the Yards value is the highest within +-  8" of the zero path.
